All Kingdom Halls have a dedication which sanctifies it for "pure worship". I am sure they wouldn't let it be defiled by "worldly people."

I just had a thought about the new KH design
by JeffT ini've been trying to figure out the purpose of the new (bland, commercial style) building that the gb is pushing.
it is not a design that attracts attention, nor does it offer a lot in future resale value.
it will be more difficult to build than the wood residential style buildings, meaning they can't use their cheap unskilled labor force for a lot of the work.

All this new JW.org stuff is hurting my brain
by Nosferatu inso i just watched the singing cart video.
i literally cannot describe how i felt watching that.. growing up as a jw was serious business.
we had to take the preaching work seriously, watch our conduct, give a good witness by our actions, and be on our best behaviour to ensure we made it through the great tribulation.. when i was a child, i had dreams of being a cartoonist.

HOW EXACTLY does god communicate with or direct the GB?
by stuckinarut2 inwe're all familiar with the organisations claims (and have seen the flow diagrams in books and mags) that the gb is "directed by god".
in turn, the local elders are "directed by god".
so, how exactly do they suppose this happens?

Is the building a "tilt up" design like Patterson? the outside walls are concrete that is poured and then tilted up into place. This makes for extremely fast and commercial usage. The interior can be arranged according to use. Just wondering if anyone knows if the building is a concrete exterior wall construction. -

To Blue Dot or Not to Blue Dot. That is the question ....
by Oubliette inso i've been noticing recently that some khs in the area where i live (socal) are putting up the jw.org little blue dot, but others are not.
i would think this would be a mandatory directive from hq.
does anyone here have any intel on the matter?.

On announcing the presence of a sexual predator
by disposable hero of hypocrisy inthere's a lot of talk on here about changes the society must make, one of them being the announcing of sexual predators in the congregation.
i agree.
but do any other organizations do the same?

When sex offenders in the US are off parole they are like all others.They no longer have parole sanctions to not be with children. It is true that laws have changed for some offenders to lifetime parole! That might be different. I'm not up on that business. It would be wise to inform the congregation by individual conversations and not announcements. Telephone, telegraph and what is it everyone? yes, tell-a-witness. But all parents should be advised without a doubt. Once its out there will be no need for an announcement.
